Rainhill Place

A home of worship, learning, and charitable outreach

The Plymouth Brethren Christian Church is bringing forward proposals to regenerate a derelict brownfield site on Rainhill Road, St Helens, and deliver a new home of worship, learning, and charitable outreach.

Located at the former Scott Clinic site, the proposals for ‘Rainhill Place’ would make best use of this brownfield site by delivering a high-quality place to serve local members of the Church and facilitate its social impact across St Helens and the wider Merseyside area.

Following extensive and positive pre-application discussions with St Helens Borough Council, the Church now wishes to bring forward a hybrid application for a new Gospel Hall, support facility for the Church’s charity, the Rapid Relief Team, within a new dedicated space for the not-for-profit organisation, Campus & Co, and outline permission for a place for learning or community uses.

Ahead of submitting a planning application, the Church is keen to receive feedback on the proposals to deliver Rainhill Place. A public consultation has been launched to offer local residents and businesses an opportunity to see the emerging proposals and submit their feedback.

The public consultation is now open until 2nd October 2024 at 5:30pm (extended from 27th September).

Feedback from the local community is very important to the Church and all comments received during the consultation will be carefully reviewed by the project team.

Details on how to submit comments can be found on the Your Feedback page.
